Joseph Earl Howard

Joseph Earl Howard, age 76, of Vass, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at FirstHealth Hospice House, with his daughters by his side.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel from 2 until 4 Military Honors will follow.

Joseph was born in Duplin County, North Carolina on January 11, 1948, to the late John Wesley and Sarah Turner Howard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Gail Pilgrim, brothers, Johnny Ray Howard and Spacey Howard, sister, Helen Faulkner.

Joseph proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a loving father, uncle, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed.

He leaves behind his daughters, Terri Howard of Sanford and Lynette Parks of Rockingham; grandchildren, Braxton Artis, Braylee Howard, Trey Parks; great-grandchildren, Aubrie Parks and Lilly Parks; sister, Sylvia Fowler of Greensboro.
